Well, 2009 is almost complete and what a year it was! Married, and now a new baby on the way!
I had my third doctor's appointment last week and it went really well. And on January 15 we will find out the sex!! I can't wait!! I'm still thinking most likely boy, but who really knows. 50/50 chance I guess.
I've been down with a cold the past few days, finally feeling better today. We are planning on traveling home to Nebraska tomorrow, but with this weather not sure that will happen. I'm sure either way we will have a merry Christmas - the last one without a child! This time next year we will have a little 6 month old baby to celebrate the holiday with! :)

2nd phase begins!
I'm officially in the second trimester, which they tell me means I will start feeling less sick and have a ton more energy soon. Oh, I can't wait!! Tim and I had quite an eventful weekend with two work Christmas parties and I'm happy to report that I stayed up until 11PM both nights. That's right people, 11PM!
I'm starting to get super excited for the January sonogram appointment to find out the sex. I'm amazed at people that wait to find out. I'm dying to find out NOW. I can't imagine waiting another six months! I guess that would explain why I also went searching for my Christmas gifts the weeks leading up to Christmas...if there is a surprise to be found I'll find it!
I had lunch with my good friend Sara yesterday who brought my raspberry crystal light and dove chocolates. I'm enjoying both right now. Excellent. I've heard that if you crave sweets you're having a girl...so who knows maybe my conviction that it is a boy is wrong! We'll know in about a month and a half. YAY!!

A little miracle!
I've been really bad about posting out here. As a surprise to me, pregnancy makes me VERY tired and somewhat worthless in doing extra things. :) I'm starting to feel somewhat better and I guess that puts me right on track, because this starts my 12th week which means I am almost in my 2nd trimester. YAY!!
I went to the doctor last Tuesday and heard the little heartbeat. It was the most amazing thing I've ever heard in my life. Incredible. I still don't really believe there is a little tiny baby inside of me, but the doctor said that yes there certainly is! :)
I've been experiencing all of the typical pregnancy stuff...and a bunch of stuff that no one ever really told me about. I'm looking forward to the holidays and some relaxing time at home.
Things I like right now:

Things I like right now:
- Grilled cheese sandwiches
- Elastic band pants (really wish we had a loose dress code at work because I would never get out of my running pants).
- Raspberry Crystal Light
- Anything sweet - chocolate, ice cream, candy, etc. (this is not really new, but just letting you know.)
- Meat of any kind, especially chicken. Ugh just thinking about it makes me want to throw up.
- Anyone who asks me either 1) was this planned? or 2) is Tim excited? Um seriously people?
- Women with children who assume that every pregnancy works the same for every person....trust me...every single woman is different and just because you "never had morning sickness" or "didn't show at all until 5 months" doesn't mean that is how it will work for me!

The sickness continues...
I apologize for my lack of posts...it has been a rough last few weeks for me.
I really hate people who tell me they had *no* sickness when they were pregnant. Really? Because I can't stop throwing up. Sorry if you are one of those people, but I really hate you right now. I'm sure in the next few weeks I'll learn to love you again! :)
At least everyone keeps telling me that this means we will have a really good child. I hope so!
We have our next doctors appointment in one week and should be able to hear the heartbeat. I'm so excited!

I swear I won't change!
Oh boy, what a weekend! Had my first major hormone meltdown yesterday when I couldn't get a dress to zip up all the way before church. I'm hoping this is a temporary side effect, as I think my husband was very afraid of me. I'm talking crazy meltdown. I decided that knit dresses without zippers are probably best for now.
I'm convinced already that we are having twins...stay tuned for updates on that front! I'm sure probably not...but it does run in the family, and I've got all the so-called "signs" - we'll see!
Now I'm off to search for appropriate Halloween costumes for the party we are attending this weekend! :)

Doctor visit #1 - complete!
I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday! Everything looks great so far and we are on our way to baby! If you know me well, you know my extreme phobia of all things medical. I am pretty proud of myself for only asking to lay down twice - and I didn't pass out at all! I'm hoping this gets easier with each visit...
I had a ton of questions for the nurse - the first being - am I really pregnant? She confirmed, with a little chuckle, that yes, I was definitley pregnant! I guess the last week of throwing up didn't convince me. :)
Now I get to spend the next few months in another planning frenzy. And I thought when the wedding was over I would be done planning for a while! I was already thinking last night about the many, many things I need to take care of...life insurance, a will, nursery, make more money, etc., etc. Oh the fun we are going to have the next eight months!

Well, I guess they warned me in health class...
So...here starts the newest chapter in our lives. Tim and I have been married exactly 6 weeks this Saturday. And we are exactly 4 weeks preggers. Yep. Apparently it is that easy for us. I really thought this would take a LOT longer. But, of course, we are super excited and totally freaked out. We were going to try and keep this a secret for up to 12 weeks...but I sort of have a big mouth. Anyway, it is really happening! I know this pic is a little blurry, but believe me, I have taken four tests now. And I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that they are all positive! :)
